Aston Villa return to the Champions League on Tuesday after a season away from Europe’s premier competition.
To set the scene, it’s a familiar opponent in Club Brugge, a team Villa played three times en route to the quarter-finals in 2025.
Despite a difficult start to the new campaign, with Villa failing to score in their first three Premier League games for the second consecutive season, Unai Emery will be hoping that, just like last term, European action can act as a springboard.
