Unai Emery: 100 Premier League wins, and no time to mark them
17.10.26, 21:12 Updated 17.10.26, 22:08 6 Minute Read
The story in brief
- Unai Emery reached 100 Premier League wins as a manager, in 197 matches across Arsenal and Aston Villa.
- He declined to mark it, saying his focus was already on Wednesday's Champions League tie.
- Johan Manzambi scored the winner and then felt something; Emery said the first test suggested nothing serious.
A milestone reached, then set aside
Johan Manzambi's header on 36 minutes at St James' Park gave Aston Villa a 1-0 win and gave Unai Emery his 100th Premier League victory as a manager. It arrived in his 197th match in the competition, across spells at Arsenal and Villa, with forty-four draws and fifty-three defeats alongside it. That makes him the joint-ninth fastest manager to reach a century of wins in the division.
